Notes for the week starting 1st June

Mind the Gap Theatre Company
Deirdre Callaghan, Deirdre Burke, Noel Donovan, Stephen Barrett, Craig Fagan and David Doyle all members of Mind the Gap Theatre Company have been busy working on a Youth Initiative with support from Leargas Their project involves all aspects of planning and implementing a
film documentary on the history of the Griese Players (1999 to 2008).
During the project they will also receive training in Leadership skills
and obtain Fetac accredited YouthPass certification on its successful completion. Noel Donovan represented the group at the Youth in Action Day in Croke Park on April 24.
The documentary will be made during the film weekend July 24 to 27.
Following on from this initiative the Griese Youth Theatre hope to take part in a youth exchange with a group in Edinburgh Scotland in 2009.



Griese Youth Theatre
Members of Griese Youth Theatre are busy rehearsing for their upcoming plays of “Taking Breath” and “Eclipse which will be put on in the coming weeks.



Cork Youth International Film Festival
Congratulations to Rory Cullen who won Best Actor Award at the Cork Youth International Film Festival in Cork on May 15.
Rory received the only actor award from almost one hundred short film entries for his role in Trapped, filmed in 2007. The film which was devised by the group also featured Noel Donovan, Danny Doyle and Thomas Walsh



Speech and Drama Classes
Speech and Drama classes have resumed every Monday for those wishing to take exams with the Leinster School of Music and Dance, Enquiries to Leish Burke 087 7528398
