Formed in 1999, we now have over 80 members who are divided into 4 different workshop groups according to age from 6-11 year olds' who meet every Thursday night, Pre Youth Theatre (6th class/ first years) Monday night and 14 to 22 year old youth theatre group who meet every Friday night in Ballitore.

The drama group is non profit making and relies heavily on sponsorship for its survival. It has since its set up received sponsorship from Kelt, The Kildare Leader Programme, Action South Kildare and Kildare County Council.

The group prides itself with having a strong spirit of volunteerism underpinning its every activity. Parents and friends get involved in supporting the group in all of its activities from assisting in the building of sets to organising and supporting fund raising events.

The underlying theme of community supporting community is borne through by the members annual "Hunting the Wren" on St Stephens Day, which, raises funds for local charities.

Message from Gabriel Byrne to Griese Players on the occasion of the
Film Premiere of their First Short Film ‘All My Love’ made with the assistance of KELT and produced by Eamon Little and the Flying Film Squad Galway.

‘I saw my first films in the old picturehouse in Ballitore! Little did I ever think the town would be producing its own in years to come ….to make a film is one of the most difficult and rewarding endeavours no matter it’s length….I am mightily impressed that you’ve succeeded….I hope that this experience leads to some of you following a career in cinema as I did………do what your heart tells you…..do what makes you excited and passionate…….Ballitore has a thousand stories to be told……I send you all much love and sincere congratulations.’
