Griese Youth Theatre
Griese Youth Theatre is a dedicated drama group that has produced high quality productions and events throughout Ireland for the past eleven years. Starting as a series of summer workshops in 1999, GYT has gone from strength to strength, participating in events such as NAYD productions, the Connections plays, Wyeth Human Rights summer festivals, radio productions, Youth Initiative projects, Comháirle na nÓg, Youth Theatre Members Forum, workshops and much more! As well as hosting our events like film making courses and our annual summer festival.
We meet every Friday night from 7.30pm-9.30pm in the Meeting House, Ballitore
Griese Players
Griese Players offer a full programme of process led drama activities designed to explore creativity, develop communication, and theatre skills in a cooperative environment. We offer a unique individual choice, a performing arts programme in a traditional environment Covering all aspects of drama: voice, movement, mime, improvisation, listening skills, developing the imagination, concentration and live performance skills.
Griese Players is divided into four different categories according to age.
We meet every:
Monday- Fifth Class Drama- 6.30pm-8.00pm
Tuesday- Dance classes: jazz, modern, hip hop and musical theatre 4-7 year olds- 6.30pm-7.30pm
8-12 year olds- 7.30pm-8.30pm
Thursday- Senior infants- Second Class- 6.00pm-7.00pm
Third to Fourth Class- 7.00pm-8.30pm
Éalú Productions
Based in South Kildare, Éalú Productions came into existence in June 2010. The group consists of six female actors, all former members of Griese Youth Theatre. Their first production, "Chambers of the Heart", was performed at the Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge. Future plans are to expand the group to include male and female members aged 19 and over.
